These muscles lie in the forearm and their tendon components cross the wrist and attach to the bones to move the fingers and wrist. Exercise these for greater grip power and endurance. The smaller muscles of the hand (intrinsic), lie at the base of the thumb (3), small finger (4) and across the hand (5 & 6). They provide the finer movements, coordination, and control of the fingers and do not cross the wrist. WARNING! Like any other piece of exercise equipment, strain, muscle fatigue or other injury can occur from the use of this

5 Stars Simply the best!
I have been climbing walls indoor and outdoor for over 5 years now and this gripmaster pro is really impressive. It is build extremely sturdy and fits my hand much better than the regular gripmaster (which I would also rate 5 stars!). I purchased the 7 pounds and the 11 pounds pro version. I use them for hours everyday, whenever I have a free hand I grab one and it definitely increased my strength endurance. Now when I am struggling to finish a climb this little device gives me the extra strength that I need.
4 Stars I wish the palm grip was more comfortable
Probably it fits many hands perfectly; but not my own. It should be thicker and softer and thus more adaptable grip. The finger grips are fine. Unit seems sturdy and will probably last forever. I wish I had ordered the one with five lb. resistance insted of seven, but that’s just me.
5 Stars If your new to bass guitar playing, you need it!
Well, I’m new to bass guitar, have been playing it for a few months, and using this thing for two days have already made a lot of difference on my 3rd and 4th fingers’ dexterity.
I’m a man, aged 28, and started with the medium tension. It feels to me like it has a very light tension over the first two fingers, but it puts a lot of duty over the 3rd and the 4th (of course the difference is on me, it puts the same tension over each finger).
The thing is, you should find the correct tension for your weakest fingers, exercise them to make them reach the strongest ones, and then it is time to upgrade for a heavier tension.
It would really improve the dexterity for the bassist, at least for the beginer.
I only can tell about the prohands exerciser, don’t know the difference between this and the gripmaster or the VIA.
5 Stars Simply Awesome
First the good:
there are three different ways to use this to work your four fingers. One you hold like a grip which is kinda easy. Then the second you use the bottom of your fingers to press and it works out your wrist and forearm, medium dificulty. Lastly you can use the tip of your fingers and press, very hard.
As for the thumb, there are about two exercises for that too, a little pamphlet comes with the product to show you how its done
Only con is that this is NOT a finger exercize. Using the tips of your fingers on the product makes the whole length of your fingers hurt (at least it does to me). I feel like i need to exercize my fingers before i can really take advantge of this device. Now if only there were a machine to work out your ACTUAL fingers….
