GoFit Medicine Ball with DVD Training Session by Mark Verstegen
GoFit Medicine Ball with DVD Training Session by Mark Verstegen

The medicine ball is perfect for athletic training of all types. These balls are sturdy enough to bounce against the hardest surfaces and retain their shape. This basketball-style medicine ball is perfect for core training with a partner or by yourself with a rebounder or against a wall. Medicine Ball workouts are a throwback method of training that is being rediscovered by athletes and fitness experts everywhere. In this age of high tech equipment, the medicine ball is very simplistic, yet incredibly effective in training the whole body through a complete range of motion.
Medicine balls build core trunk strength and joint integrity. Core trunk strength is the key to most athletic moves (i.e. golf swing, throwing a baseball, martial arts, blocking and tackling in football). Medicine Ball training is also designed to strengthen the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees and allows you to more fully access your muscle strength. You also become more resistant to injuries.
Each ball comes with a GoFit exclusive training DVD by Mark Verstegen, the owner/founder of Athletes’ Performance and trainer to world class athletes in all sports.
User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars An excellent product
The medicine ball is rugged, solid, and easy to grip even at the end of a workout when one is dripping sweat (I would have thought the opposite). The included DVD is quite helpful, though some of the exercises are not practical if you live in an apartment on the fifth floor… Altogether, though, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a change from the usual cardio work, or just a break from weightlifting.
4 Stars Good Grip
The ball is a ball… easy to hold on to, throw and even bounce. Since it is 12lbs it makes a lot of noise when bounced. The disk that came with it wasn’t worth watching if you do not have a partner to catch the ball or a brick/sturdy wall to throw against.
3 Stars Product fine, packaging suspect
The product is fine. Easy to grip and use and in good condition. I bought what I thought was supposed to be a new ball, however it arrived and appears used. The DVD miraculously survived the trip despite being taped to the inside of the box with the ball rolling around against it. The jewel case did not fare as well and was broken. The product box had also previously been opened. Happy with the ball though and look forward to using it for a long time.
5 Stars Good Solid EQ
There are lots of medicine balls out there. This type can bounce without aid of a trampoline so you can throw against a wall without harming yourself or the ball. Other types either don’t bounce or have breakable internal parts. Also, the nubby covering is easy to grip and is in my opinion nicer than the other bouncable versions.
